That's somewhat believable, though still a little weak due to the PSA seemingly lacking both any serious ideological differences from the USA and a pre-existing separatist movement.The problem is that, nine times out of ten, the PSA secedes to 'get out of the mess', and then immediately jumps right back in by declaring war on the USA. ![]() So, apparently, the Pacific states see the chaos in the East and decide to secede, not wanting to deal with that mess. I accept that, but at the same time, that shouldn't mean granting the story a blank check to do whatever it wants, no matter how ridiculous or unlikely.Let's start with what is, in my opinion, the most egregious example: The Pacific States of America. These problems are directly tied together, compounding one another.Problems in Lore and StoryNow, to be fair, the idea of a Second American Civil War in the 1930s already requires a good deal of suspension of disbelief, even if we account for the differences from our time line (OTL).
